Giving Campaigns

In addition to the initial investments required to support our schools and our network until we reach self-sustainability, we are fundraising for specific components of our program.  Click through the slideshow below to learn more about our current giving campaigns.

National Dance Institute Partnership

Become a patron for our partnership with the esteemed National Dance Institute. This contribution will support residencies for two grade levels (150 students) at each of our Girls Prep and Boys Prep elementary schools, which culminate in a school-wide performance. NDI helps students develop skills such as self-expression, collaboration, perseverance, and resilience. In addition to learning specific dance moves and songs, students study the cultures and history behind the pieces they perform.

To support this initiative, donate to Public Prep and write National Dance Institute Partnership in the memo line (or select this option on the dropdown menu if donating online).

College Completion Initiative

Donate $50 to match a family’s contribution to their son or daughter’s NY529 college savings program or any other amount to support relationships with Smith College, Cornell University, Stephens College, West Point, the US Naval Academy, and more. Public Prep's relationships with top colleges and universities allow our students to experience life on college campuses at an early age. Your donation will help demystify college and create the self-expectation of college completion.

Girls Prep Bronx Middle School

Girls Prep Bronx Middle School is Public Prep’s second middle school campus. The school launched in 2014 to serve 80 sixth grade students; 70 of the 75 students in fifth grade at Girls Prep Bronx Elementary School matriculated. The school is co-located at x 120 with MS 301 and P188x in the South Bronx.  Help support our incredible music, science and technology programs until we reach self-sustainability.

Boys Prep Bronx Elementary School

Boys Prep Bronx Elementary School opened in 2014 to serve 144 students in grades K-1, and will grow a grade each year. The school is co-located with P.S. 107 in the South Bronx. As the first all-boys charter elementary school in the Bronx, Boys Prep is designed to focus on the particular needs of boys of color who, statistically, have disproportionately low high school and college completion rates. Help support our school until we reach self-sustainability.

PrePrep: the Joan Ganz Cooney Early Learning Program

The Joan Ganz Cooney Early Learning Program opened in 2014 and serves 54 boys and girls. The program benefits from a partnership with the Sesame Workshop. At the end of five years we will have powerful research results that can compare the academic readiness and performance levels of third graders who were part of our Pre-K program versus those who entered Girls Prep and Boys Prep in Kindergarten. These results will be a useful tool in underscoring the importance of Pre-K as an integral, coherent precursor to the elementary school experience. The program will incorporate media-enhanced learning opportunities and focus on empowering students with school readiness skills and partnering with families to extend learning at home.
