CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT

Boys Prep Bronx Elementary School develops students’ character through our Core Values of scholarship, merit, brotherhood, and responsibility. We also help students develop non-cognitive strengths such as resilience, determination, self-control, perseverance, gratitude, empathy, and optimism. We celebrate students character development and demonstration of our Core Values at our Unity Meetings, which our school-wide celebrations. Finally, we expose our students to exceptional role models who have overcome adversity in order to make a positive impact on the world. Role models include students from high-performing high-schools in NYC and our classroom Namesakes, the influential men for whom our classrooms are named.

Brotherhood
I depend on my brothers, and they depend on me.

Merit
The harder I try, the more I achieve.

Responsibility
I choose to do the right thing (even when no one is watching)!

Scholarship
I learn new things every day.
